Dear all,

some of you might have noticed or read it already on IRC or in my last
mail here on the list:

* there is a Java ZIM implementation to come
* there is now a Java LZMA2 implementation which was needed to make ZIM
on Java available

These days I have set up a system account on our server for Arunesh
Mathur (gremmachook). Tommi prepared a SVN directory for him and his code:
http://svn.openzim.org/viewvc.cgi/trunk/zimreader-java/

Arunesh is a student from India, interested in making the mobile version
of Wikipedia available on J2ME devices (eg. old mobile phones).

He will introduce himself to the list.

Arunesh, welcome on board!

Thanks Manuel!

Hello everyone!

I am Arunesh Mathur, a student from India. I have
started making a port of the ZIM Reader in Java, so that people interested
in making offline Wikipedia readers can leverage it, especially those who
are looking to build for Android and J2ME. I'll make the first commit soon,
which has the basic functions needed. There is still some way to go to make
it full fledged.

I am generally a little busy, so I work on this in my
free time. However, if you feel you need this to be done faster, just shoot
an email and I'll try my best to speed things up! (no promises though).

I hope this goes a long way in making ZIM more popular!
You can find me on the #openzim channel (Freenode).
My nick is gremmachook.

Thanks,
- Arunesh Mathur

Thanks Pascal,
I have already made a commit of my code. Although it
lacks some functionality, you can read articles given an article name. I
plan on improving that further. Here is the repository,
